Complete Idiot’s Guide to Drawing contains instructions to make a viewfinder frame. These instructions are wrong. You are instructed to draw the center lines and diagonals first. Then for an 8″ x 10″ viewfinder, measure a rectangle 12″ x 14″. This is the mistake. The author forgot to maintain the aspect ratio. The correct dimensions should be 12″ x 15″. I have attached a jpeg showing the correct viewfinder.
